'Sunday on the Hawkesbury'

Departs most Sundays at 11am from Brooklyn Public Wharf.
 Bookings are Essential.

COVID-19 INFORMATION

Since the Government shut-down on March 23, 2020, the mail has been delivered to the river residents daily by a couple of our crew in a small tinny. There have been days where the boat has overflowed with packages (the locals have certainly embraced Dan Murphys online...). Sunday on the Hawkesbury has also been shut down.

We are REALLY looking forward to welcoming passengers back on board with us, but we are very hesitant to rush this. We certainly do not want to become the next Ruby Princess, and so many of our lovely guests are in the most vulnerable sector for this pandemic to strike.

Please be patient with us as we navigate the fine line between business operations and safety for our passengers and crew. We are not expecting to return the big boats to the run until September at the earliest (having said that, October is looking pretty full already!). We'd love you to join our correspondence list so we can let you know as soon as we have a return date, and don't forget that all forward bookings are 100% refundable for any reason up to 48hrs prior. You can safely book a future date knowing that you can cancel or change the date if you need to.

So what do we do on a Sunday when there's no mail? We cruise in the opposite direction!

Join us for a 3 hour cruise of the spectacular Hawkesbury River. Bring along your family and friends and enjoy morning tea and a delicious local fish'n'chip lunch on board as you sit back and see the grand old Hawkesbury at its lazy best.

We follow part of the itinerary of our popular 'Seven Islands of the Hawkesbury' cruise - learn some of the history and heritage of the area and its beautiful islands: Lion, Dangar, Spectacle, Long, Peat, and Milson Islands.

This cruise is designed to showcase the opposite end of the river to The Riverboat Postman, so the two cruises can be taken without much overlap.

The views to the ocean behind Lion Island make for some spectacular photos, as will the close-up (tide dependent) view of some ancient Aboriginal rock carvings at Eagle Rock near Broken Bay.

The cruise includes a fantastic fish'n'chip lunch served on board.
Our boats are all fully licensed with well-stocked bars so you can enjoy a drink while we cruise.

Adult $58
Senior $48
Child 4 - 14yrs $18
(until December 31, 2020)

Plan to come by train if you can - trains from both directions arrive at Hawkesbury River at 10.49am. Return trains to Sydney depart about an hour after the cruise returns, and to the Central Coast at 2.49pm.
Parking is particularly difficult on the weekends so allow extra time to find a park if you are driving. See our 'Directions' page for more details.
